Welcome to the Major Gifts Cornerstones Course
The Major Gifts Cornerstones course is a four-day intensive course aimed at
practitioners with 3-5 years fund development experience. It begins with a four-day
course, introducing a best practices approach to building and enhancing a major gifts program. The course provides an enhancement on essential and proven strategies, an exploration of the building blocks of relationship fundraising and an opportunity for students to elevate their ability be secure transformational gifts for their cause. Following the course is the added benefit of eight hours of one-on-one coaching customized to their organization and program.
The enlightening and challenging classroom environment will enroll a maximum of 10 students, allowing for a highly personalized experience. Our comprehensive curriculum is based on the latest research, best practices and case studies in Canada’s philanthropic arena. It will explore case development, strategic prospect engagement, effective research, briefing and debriefing, prospect qualification; effective stewardship and the compass of professional practice – ethics.
CFRE International Accredited
Full participation in the Cornerstones Course is applicable for 28 Education points toward CFRE initial certification and/or re-certification. Students are provided with a binder of print materials organized around each module, including handouts, templates and tools to augment their practice as they move from the classroom back into their workplace. Coaching will be a combination of onsite; telephone and online, as determined by each participant’s circumstances.
